Changing Course

Changing Course

At the end of July, the publishing company I’ve been working for about a year now closed its doors. I was doing formatting and blog management for them. Something I need to get back into the habit of doing for myself. *side-eyes three books waiting to be formatted for paperback and blog that hasn’t been updated in a year*

I made a new video (after multiple failed attempts) talking about where I’m at in my publishing career and where I want to go, and how I’m doing that moving forward. I have big plans, and I hope you’ll continue to join me for this adventure.

Projects!

Thanks to the 90-day writing challenge, I’m only actively working on two projects currently, but that doesn’t mean this list has gotten any shorter.

A Modernism of Magic

One of the two projects I’m concentrating on for the 90-day writing challenge. I’m sending the first story to my editor (she’s amazing!) this month. Then, in September I hope to start making chapters go live through Kindle Vella, Amazon’s new serial reading program that allows you to read the first three chapters of a work for free, but then purchase tokens to read each chapter afterward.

This work is a contemporary fantasy that follows the lives of various paranormal races as they go about their day-to-day lives in a world where magic is known and actively accepted… for the most part. I can’t wait to release it to the world, but in the meantime, here’s the cover for it! I love it so much!

The contest ran from March 1 to May 1, but I haven’t heard back on where my piece stood among the other contestants. There’s three top prizes and up to 120 entries will be used to create an anthology. Read more about the flash fiction contest rules to see why I’m so excited about this.

Damned and Dangerous Quartet Book 3 - Damned and Deadly

DAMNED AND DANGEROUS QUARTET

Although this is the second project I’m working on for the 90-day writing challenge, I’m not as focused on it as I am the first project

This will probably become my main project for Q4 because of it, but I am slowly working on it. I am enjoying the process and taking my time on it. There were so many scenes where the two main characters weren’t together in this book that it’s been hard to figure out a balance where the events will make some semblance of sense.

I’m working it out though, and I’m really excited to return to this world. I have missed it.

If you haven’t read the first two books in the series, and are interested in them, they are available on Kindle Unlimited, which means you can read them for free. Check out  Damned and Desolate as well as Damned and Dangerous on Amazon today.

FUR, TEETH, AND CLAWS

I now have internet and since I’m not doing work for a publishing company anymore, I’m hoping to get back to working on this again. It will be slow work though. Fair warning. Once I have everything ready for you, I’ll share links to the entire backlog for your reading entertainment.

No new news on the paperback front. I have the files on my computer. It was just a matter of sitting down and working on them myself. I have purchased the paperback wraps from my cover artists, and once I have page counts and dimensions for them, I will contact them.
