Coming Soon to a Kindle Near You!

Am I actually getting a newsletter sent out on time?!? Am I actually getting the hang of this? Don’t count on it, but it would be nice.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. Woof! Being without internet (for the most part) for a month is… Well, it’s HARD! I had so much stuff internet-based I wanted/needed to get done that I had to play catch-up on.

In a way, I STILL feel like I’m playing catch-up. It’s alright though. I’m slowly getting there. I’ve been making a bunch of to-do lists to make sure I get everything done. It’s not the best idea, but it’s working out slowly.

So what else is going on?

🎉NEW RELEASES!🎉

Dear Satan (Fire and Brimstone, Book 1)

DEAR SATAN

A simple mistake. A joke gone awry. A whole heap of trouble.

RELEASE DATE: October 29, 2020

Maude’s never been able to do anything right except for support her sister, Jolene. When Jolene gets her a job at the same law firm she works at, Maude’s grateful, even if working in the mailroom is boring.

But working for the law firm means Maude will have to attend the charity gala—not her thing—and write a card to Santa. In an attempt to ease her troubles about either, Maude decides to write her card to Satan instead.

Speak of the devil, and he will appear. Even at a gala. Possibly wearing a three-piece suit.

S.D. Hegyes Author NOTE: The first book in the Fire and Brimstone series is coming out the end of this month. I’m so excited about this book!

For those who may not know, Dear Satan was the first novella I ever attempted for the 7-Day Challenge. I was in a bad funk in March and my husband allowed me to break my cover ban (because… my name is Skye and I’m a cover hoarder) and purchase a new cover if I finished the story to go along with it in a week.

Challenge accepted.

I talk more about this challenge on my YouTube channel. Can you tell I’m excited this is finally coming out?

Damned and Dangerous (Damned and Dangerous Quartet, Book 2)

DAMNED AND DANGEROUS

Restless spirits. Mysterious roommates. Death threats. Sorsha's life is back in hell.

RELEASE DATE: November 19, 2020

Seeing spirits and telling loved ones about their dead doesn’t pay the bills. If Sorsha doesn’t want to return to Shaded Glade, she’ll need to find a roommate. Fast.

Enter Larz Kazal, an attractive young man who isn’t what he seems and knows more about Sorsha’s past then even she can remember. He promises to teach her if she can bring herself to trust him, but she’s been burned so many times, she’s wary to do it again. She’ll have to though because a child murderer is on the loose, one Sorsha made a promise to find and bring to justice, and Larz might be the key.

No one ever mentioned how hard the phantom gig might be.

S.D. Hegyes Author NOTE: The second book in the Damned and Dangerous Quartet is FINALLY coming out! If you’d like to get your own copy, the links are above. It will be an Amazon Exclusive, like the first book, so if you have Kindle Unlimited, you can read it for free on the day it comes out.

If you haven’t read the first book in the series, feel free to check out Damned and Desolate, available through Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.

Currently, all of my books are only available as e-books. As soon as that changes, I’ll be sure to let you know!

7 Day Challenge

In my last newsletter, I admitted that I was planning on doing another 7-day challenge, and I wanted help choosing a story idea.

Annnd…

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

Raven's Call

Alyson Moore’s always fed the ravens, although she can’t remember why. And they’ve always brought her gifts in return: a few rocks to discourage purse thieves, some change for a cup of coffee, and other seemingly-random items she’d find a use for.

But now, the ravens have brought her a sword, a map, and a letter. Alyson has been chosen to bring Loki back from Midgard. All while trying to learn how to control the magic she just discovered she has.

I’ll admit, while I still love this idea, I was really hoping the other cover would win. Personal preference and all that.

That being said, I’ll be attempting this 7-Day Challenge in December, and I hope to vlog the entire ordeal, so if you aren’t following me on YouTube and would like to see how this challenge goes… Well… What are you waiting for?

Recent Readings

My youngest has been having problems off and on with nightmares about volcanos exploding and killing everyone. We learned about Pompeii and Yellowstone as well as watched the movie Volcano starring Tommy Lee Jones, so it’s kind of understandable.

Because of that, I’ve been reading a lot of children’s books lately to help drive off the nightmares.

On my own, I’ve been reading a lot of mystery novels because I would like to delve into the paranormal mystery genre one day.

Fiction Fling

FIND A MAN, DON'T SETTLE DOWN

by Alina Popescu

Find a Man, Don’t Settle Down is an LGBT mystery that isn’t quite a cozy, but doesn’t have any explicit sex or violence within its pages either.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel and devoured the rest of the series after it. It was fun and fast-paced, and I enjoyed putting all the pieces together to solve the mystery alongside Emmett Naoki and David Wright.

Currently, there are six books in the series, with the next one coming out in November if I remember correctly.

Alina Popescu is also on YouTube, and I’ve been an avid fan of both her AuthorTube channel and her artwork channel for years. If you want to find out more about her and ALL THE GENRES she publishes in, that’s a good place to start.

Puns & Fun

My family is full of pun-lovers, and every once in a while, we have Pun Wars, where we just have back-and-forth conversations that are nothing but puns. It’s great. I’m terrible at it because I’m the kind of person that needs a few hours to think of a good one, and this is definitely one of those things where you need to think on your feet. So, I’m always extremely proud of myself when I can come up with a single pun during one of these Pun Wars sessions.

Do you like puns? Share one of your favorites with me!
