Damned and Desolate Cover Reveal!

If you got my January newsletter, you’ll know I was hoping to show you some covers. Well… I have a cover to show you!

Newsletter Send Date:  Friday, February 28, 2020

That's right. I got an updated cover for the first book in the Damned and Dangerous Quartet.

Cover and blurb are posted below along with a pre-order link to the ebook, which will be available June 11, 2020.

I’m hard at work finishing up a rewrite of the book before I get started on the second book, Damned and Dangerous. I recently had some betas point out that the dual perspective just wasn’t working for them, and I have to say… I’m loving the rewrite so much better since they pointed that out, so… yay? Win?

Anyway, check out the cover and blurb below, and if it sounds like something you’d be interested in, feel free to click the link and pre-order your copy so you can get it on release day.

Bye Dragonlings!

Damned and Desolate (Damned and Dangerous Quartet, Book 1)

Damned and Desolate

by S.D. Hegyes

Some find salvation at Shaded Glade. Sorsha finds only hell.

For the last eight years Sorsha Johnston has lived in Shaded Glade, her own personal hell. Her father brought the family to Shaded Glade because of Sorsha’s affliction.

In this place where men provide, women raise the family, and children do as they’re told until they are married off at age eighteen, Sorsha, and her ability to interact with ghosts, isn’t like the other eighteen-year-olds.

On the horizon is an arranged marriage to a man who hates her as much as she hates him. Sorsha must escape Shaded Glade before it’s too late. A stranger in town might just be the key—if she can trust him.

WARNING:
Damned and Desolate is the first book in the Damned and Dangerous Quartet, a slow-burn paranormal romance about a young woman who can see ghosts… Yes, like that kid in The Sixth Sense and the supernatural world she finds herself diving into. If you like kick-ass heroines, sexy men, and all the monsters that go bump in the night, prepare to sink your teeth in.

I Think I Might Love You

by Christine C Jones

Jaclyn Love is a magnet for trouble – it seems to follow her wherever she goes.

Unfortunately for Kadan Davenport, she also seems to be a magnet for him – even after a disastrous first impression that leaves him – literally – black and blue.

Jaclyn is busy trying to find some sort of balance, and Kadan is just trying not to get swept up in the chaos.

In a small city like Blakewood, it’s hard to avoid each other… especially when each additional encounter makes them wonder if they really want to.

“I Think I Might Love You” is a first-in-series novella.

A NOTE from S.D. Hegyes:  February is Black History Month, and I’ve made it my mission to start reading more books featuring black characters and by black authors. Not just this month, but throughout the whole year.

This is a romantic comedy, African American romance I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this month, and I’m looking forward to reading the sequel.

Exclusive Short Story Excerpt

A howl sounded through the forest as a car pulled off the dirt road and parked in the empty lot reserved for hikers. The park had been deserted for a couple hours, the last of the tourists gone home for the evening.

Two men climbed out. The driver, blond and still dressed in a park ranger uniform, put his hands on his hips as he waited for the young man on the passenger side to close his door. The young college youth with brown hair shorn almost to his scalp looked around with wide eyes.
