Review Policy

I love to read- so much so I had to create a book review policy to keep my ducks in a row. I’ve become a HUGE fan of Kindle and the KDP app. I also listen to audio books, and I’ve been known to check out physical books from my local library a time or two. Naturally, the topic of a book review comes up.

 

For the purpose of full disclosure, I admit that I am not overly enthusiastic about book reviews. I believe reading is so personal that how I perceive things will never be the same as you.

 

However, I understand how discussing the books keeps the conversation between readers fresh and active, and it really does help with promotion. So I do my part, and I enjoy helping out my fellow writers when I can.

 

That being said, if you are interested in having me read your book here’s the basics.

"Did Not Finish" (DNF) Policy

I reserve the right not to finish any book I receive. There are multiple reasons why I may not finish reading a book, and I reserve the right to not disclose those reasons. In the case of books I do not finish, I will send you an email informing you of my decision not to finish the book and thank you for sending it my way.

Struggled to finish the book. I liked the concept but it wasn’t executed in a way that kept me intrigued enough. The book feels as if it needs more work.

This is where all reviews start for me. This means you’ve caught my interest with the cover, blurb, and title of your book. I liked the book enough to finish it, and with a little more editing/development, I could have loved the book. An okay read that I would recommend.

I enjoyed the book, and will continue the series if it’s a part of one or check out other stand-alones from the author. I’d recommend this book to other readers and will probably do a recommendations video on the book (if a stand alone) or series (if part of one).

These are must-buy authors, those I’d buy books from without even knowing what it’s about. I loved the book, fell in love with the characters and want to know what happens next or felt that their story wrapped wrapped up in a neat enough bow that I’m satisfied about their happily ever after. I enjoy the author’s writing style and the editing is top-notch. Highly recommend and will most certainly create a recommendation video about the book/series.

This makes it look like the purchaser is a relative, something Amazon frowns upon and other stores are starting to do as well.
